Transtar
About the project
During the recent period, my teenage child Star and I went through a life-changing process. Since the beginning of puberty, Star realized he is not at peace with the feminine body he was born in. Star chose masculine appearance and defines himself as genderqueer – a non-binary identity between man and woman.
Since we have parted on the journey, the inquiry about the nature of gender, and our fear from its non-binary qualities became a focus in my art.
I share the journey with my son, and we create together. I take photographs and create silicone, knitted and print 3D objects. Star creates casting in school glue, which I photograph as well.
